CLUB ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
There were two main headlines to emerge from the sparsely attended Annual General Meeting, which was held in the Community
Room at St Benedicts, the club's training ground, on Wednesday, 7th May.
With the 14 attendees outnumbered by the persons who had registered their apologies, and with the sum total of attendees
and apologists dwarfed by the number of members who just did not bother at all, the meeting passed changes to the constitution
that allowed for three new classes of membership - Associate, which will apply to all persons who wish to train with, but
not play for, the club, Vice President and Life Vice President.
The two main changes were both agreed unanimously. Firstly, the proposal from the Star FC Board that the price of
Full Membership of the club should be increased from £30 to £35 was approved, meaning that the discounted rates of membership
will now be £25 if paid before the club dinner and £30 if paid before the start of the season.
Secondly, Dave Nottingham was voted in as the Club's fourth Vice-Chairman, taking over from Mark Elliot, who now hopes
to concentrate on both his playing career and his goal scoring exploits.
The meeting was also fulsome in its praise for General Secretary, Assistant Secretary and joint third team Manager, Matt
Harvey, who this year has applied himself selflessly to three different positions within the club. This, naturally,
compares very favourably with the vast majority of members, most of whom didn't even apologise for not bothering to attend
the club's AGM.
There now remains just three days to get your order to Matt for the Club's Annual Dinner. Please contact Matt as
soon as possible if you intend to be there on May 16th but haven't yet done anything about it!
