FIXTURES RELEASED:
The 2010-11 fixtures for all three of the clubs teams are now available and can be accessed by clicking here.  Whilst it has been previously announced that the First team open the new season with a home tie in the Northern Senior League Cup against Longlevens and then get their League season going with another home game, against Barnwood United, the Cheltenham League fixtures have only just been released.

Both the Reserve team, in Cheltenham League Division One, and the Third team, in Cheltenham League Division Four, start their campaigns on Wednesday, 1st September, when the Reserves are at home to Woodmancote and the thirds travel to take on Bredon III.  The reverse of these fixtures is played the following Tuesday, 7th September, in between which the Reserves travel to take on Finlay Rovers for their first Saturday fixture, at the same time as the First team are at Newton Heath and Stroud, at The Newlands, and the thirds play Cheltenham Civil Service III at home.

The Reserves will also "travel" to The Newlands to take on FC Barometrics Reserves in the first round of the Senior Charity Cup, which is to be played on October 16th, whilst the thirds have a bye in the first round of the Junior version, having to wait until December 11th to get involved, which is when they will be at home to Cheltenham Civil Service's Reserve team in Round Two.

Selflessly sacrificing his usual fortnight in a guest house on the front at Skegness,  intrepid club General Secretary, Matt Harvey endures, on the club's behalf, the 17 hour flight to Bali today, on a mission to unearth local talent.  As a consequence, Matt will not, now, be available until July 27th and all contact with the club, in the first instance, should go through the Club's Chairman, Nick Oram, during this time.

What better way to announce the re-launch of www.starfootballclub.com than with the unveiling of the club's new kit for the forthcoming season.  Provided for the club by its new sponsors, Fasthosts, it will be the first time that Star FC has worn blue as its first choice strip and the first time that the club has adopted an all blue kit since the 2001-02 season.

Emblazoned with the Fasthosts logo across the chest, the kit is supplied by Errea, who have not only provided most of the Star FC clubwear that has been available for the last few seasons but who, also, sponsor the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League, which is the competition that has kept the First team occupied throughout the course of the last 4 Springs, Winters and Autumns.

In order to illustrate the new kit for an audience eager to experience not only the delights of the new-look web site but, also, the sartorial re-awakening in which the whole club will engage when the 2010-11 season kicks off, club Secretary Matt Harvey was furnished with an almost unlimited budget to recruit top class models who would be paragons of athletic and sporting prowess at their best, to purvey the epitome of both the image and the ethos of the club through the medium of the internet.  Unfortunately, such budget as was available was swiftly converted into alcoholic beverages and Matt had to make do with Tim Jones, Rick Redfearn and Jon Moss instead.

The Club's old kit, consisting of yellow shirts and blue shorts, will now become its first choice change strip whilst the third choice kit will remain all grey.  Meanwhile, the Green and Red striped kit that, throughout more than a decade of use, has never clashed with anything apart from itself, will be retained for sentimental reasons and, also, to be loaned to opponents who turn up expecting to play in Blue themselves.  "The Christmas Kit", as this offence to the eye is generally known, is unlikely to be worn by our own sides again, giving them the opportunity to point and laugh if ever it sees the light of day again.

The new kit - which can be witnessed in even more of its glory by clicking on either of the photographs to open them up in larger formats - prompts, naturally enough, a need for a new Club Photograph, the last of which was taken in 2007.  This will be arranged as early in the season as possible and just as soon as the Cheltenham League fixtures have been released, so that a suitable date can be identified.  It is likely that this date will also witness the first Club social event of the season, so make sure that you keep checking back on this site to keep up to date with all the club news and updates to the online magazine, ASIB on the WEB, which will also be relaunched soon.

ASIB on the web, the club's own online magazine, has received a make-over, along with the rest of the website, and will be back on line shortly.  When it is, updates will be announced on the home page as soon as they are added - just look out for the distinctive yellow and blue "ASIB" ball logo!!
