Saturday, 4th September
All
three of the club's sides were in action today, with the Third team at home whilst the First and Reserve teams played
away
The First team only needed to "travel" just round
the corner, to The Newlands, to partake of the fixtural paradox that is represented by playing Stroud FC in our most
local of away Northern Senior League Division One games. The side rushed into a two goal lead inside the first 5 minutes,
thanks to Steve Conway and Chris Peach, but goals midway through both halves brought the home team level. Michael Bolton
re-established a lead with his first goal for the club with 15 minutes left but an unfortunate own goal by Steve Piper in
the first minute of stoppage time ensured that the spoils were shared.
The Reserve
Team also played at away, in Cheltenham League Division One, making the journey down the Golden Valley
Bypass to Windfall Way, in Elmbridge, to take on Finlay Rovers. Unfortunately, they made the return journey after having been
on the wrong end of a 6-0 defeat, in which 4 of the home side's goals were scored in the first half.
Meanwhile,
the only side at home was the Third Team also, who welcomed Cheltenham
Civil Service III to Cheltenham Road for a Cheltenham League Division Four match. Thanks to an own goal and a first
ever goal for the club by Erick Maruhn, the thirds secured all three points from a pleasing 2-0 victory.
More details

Wednesday, 1st September
Both
the Reserve team and the Third team kicked off their 2010-11 season campaigns this evening, with a home match and
an away game respectively
The Reserves the found themselves
a goal down after just a minute of their Cheltenham League Division One match at home to Woodmancote and then three down by
half time, even though they had missed a plethora of chances themselves. Woodmancote made it 4-0 from the penalty spot
midway through the second half but then goals from Craig Mortiboys and Scott Saurin reduced the arrears and gave the side
a chance of fighting back for a point. Unfortunately, their earlier indiscretions left them with too much to do and
the final score was 4-2 to the visitors.
Meanwhile, the Third Team travelled to
take on Bredon III in Division Four. Again, the side made a poor start, falling 2-0 behind in the first half before
pulling a goal back to make it 2-1 at the break when Dave Hawley headed home Guy Tyrrell's corner. They were unable to
build on this in the second half, however, and the game finished without further addition to the score.

Saturday, 28th August
The
First team got the 2010-11 season up and running this afternoon when they
welcomed Barnwood United to Cheltenham Road for a Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division One match. The Firsts took
all three points, thanks to a 13th minute goal from Neil Bermingham and a 67th minute strike from Steve Conway. Barnwood
pulled a goal back 3 minutes later but were unable to take anything from a game that was blighted by two unsavoury incidents,
the second of which lead to a brawl on the touchline.
Meanwhile, the Reserve
Team also played at home, against Upton Town in the team's last pre-season friendly and lost 3-1
in a match that kicked off at 2.00 pm
